2012 Eastern Regional Champion team Green Machine invented a special pill dispenser that doesn't require complicated programming, is safe to use around pets and kids, and keeps seniors independent and healthy. To use the RxEMINDER simply open a compartment, pour in your medicine, and scan the label. Set your time on the touch screen and the alarms are set. When it’s time, push a cup against the lever and all the pills set for that time will dispense at once. If you have to take an over-the-counter medication, you can check to see if it will interact with your medication. An RFID security and alarm system ensures that no matter where you are in your home or garden, you’ll hear, see, and or feel the alarm. It’s secure so pets and children can’t play with the RxEMINDER either, but a caretaker can still get the medicine if the senior can’t get to the machine. You can send reports to caretakers and doctors via Bluetooth. There’s also a convenient vacation pack which uses just the pager pin as the alarm.Case your vote for the Green Machine: http://fllinnovation.firstlegoleague.org/rxeminder
The newly formed Dream Green Machine invented the EZDrive, an early alert system for senior drivers. EZ-Drive (patent pending) primarily intends to make driving experience easy for seniors by enhancing their response times to traffic situations. EZ-Drive uses RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) to communicate with any approaching traffic light, or other similar devices in nearby cars by transmitting and receiving the RFID signals. Information sent by the traffic light will be reported to EZ-Drive, and communicate to the senior driver by either audio/visual cues. EZ-Drive can also be integrated with a GPS device using Bluetooth technology and smart applications on mobile devices.
